Pre-Conference "Africa Day" Programme

On Wednesday 4 October 2023, ISHA will be running a focused "Africa Day" programme.

The "Africa Day" Programme will focus on the specific issues faced in treating patients requiring hip preservation surgery on the African continent. We aim for this to be a round table discussion meeting, bringing together aligned stake holders from the clinical, commercial, academic, governmental, allied professional societies, not for profit organisations and hospital group communities from across the Africa Region, with the aim of identifying the main challenges that exist in the adoption and practice of hip preservation surgery, with the aim of creating an agreed road map to address the specific challenges identified.

Further details are to follow once the programme has been firmed up, but the "Africa Day" has two principal aims:

• to facilitate discussion between medics and industry representatives on the challenges of education, training and adoption of hip preservation on the African continent
• to educate through international experience sharing and insights from hip preservation pioneers from around the world
