Glasgow City Council is delighted to invite you to join their representatives for a "Welcome to the City Reception" on the occasion of the 14th ISHA - The Hip Preservation Society Annual Scientific Meeting on Thursday, 13th October 2022, being held in the City. 

The event will take place at the Glasgow Science Centre, a short walk across Bell's Bridge from the SEC. Delegates will exit the SEC and cross the Bridge after the end of the Thursday scientific programme, and the reception (drinks and canapes) will commence at 18:15.

This informal get-together with a Scottish flavour provides all attendees with an opportunity to connect with colleagues old and new.

Guest tickets for the "City Welcome Reception" can be purchased for accompanying persons at a price of £25 per person; again, you will find this option on your registration form.

Gala Dinner & Ceilidh: Friday 14th October 2022, 20:00 - 23:00, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum

Cost: £120 pp

The ISHA Conference Gala Dinner will be held in the renowned Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum and include a traditional Scottish 'ceilidh' (a combination of folk music and dancing).

Kelvingrove is one of Scotland's most popular attractions and features 22 themed, state-of-the-art galleries displaying an astonishing 8,000 objects. The collections at Kelvingrove are extensive, wide-ranging and internationally significant. They include natural history, arms and armour, art from many art movements and periods of history and much more. The most famous painting on display at Kelvingrove is the Salvador Dali masterpiece 'Christ of St John of the Cross'. Sir Roger the Asian Elephant is another big museum attraction. There is even a Spitfire plane hanging from the ceiling of the West Court.

There will be an opportunity for guests to explore some of the galleries before enjoying dinner seated beneath the exquisite vaulted ceiling and ornate chandeliers, followed by traditional Scottish entertainment in the magnificent Centre Hall.

The Gala Dinner & Ceilidh is an excellent opportunity for attendees to network and engage with colleagues and friends in a social environment whilst enjoying the cultural aspects of Glasgow and Scotland.
