ISHA Annual Scientific Meeting 2024

INFORMATION FOR SPEAKERS AND AUTHORS

Presentation formats

All submissions have been allocated one of the following formats. Please consult your abstract notification email for further information, or contact abstract@ishaconference.com.

i. Standard Free Paper Presentation - oral podium presentation - 5 minutes presentation, plus panel discussion / Q&A

ii. Rapid Fire Free Paper Presentation - short oral podium presentation - 3 minutes presentation, plus panel discussion / Q&A

iii. Oral EPoster / Video Oral EPoster Presentation - 2Presentations will take place during coffee breaks in the Exhibition Hall theatre (Capitol Hall) - 3 minutes presentation, 1 minute for questions (Maximum 5 slides). Submitters are also invited in addition to the oral presentation to also prepare the submission as a 1 slide ePoster. These presentations will also be included in the ePoster library (see ePoster instructions below).

iv. Trainee Award Presentations - The top scoring submissions, where presenting authors are identified as medical students, residents or fellows, have been entered for this year's two trainee awards, the winners of which receive a USD$1,200 award. These presentations have been scheduled within the main program within sessions FP1 - FP8. If you have indicated in your submission that the presenting authors is a medical student, resident or fellow, please do not change the presenting author without discussion with the program office as it may impact those candidates being considered for trainee awards.

v. EPosters / Video ePosters- ePosters will be available to view on screens in the Exhibition Hall, Capitol Ballroom links via the mobile app and via the ISHA Conference Website.

Templates and instructions and upload links have been emailed to all presenting authors. In Addition to the ePoster it is possible to upload video and audio files if desired. These should be uploaded separate upload files if being included.

If you have some new product developments you are involved with and wish to share, you may like to book a slot in the new "SHARK TANK".

Podium Presentation Preparation

(Invited and Free Papers)

Below is guidance informaion to help you prepare for your presentations, along with a downloadable PowerPoint template. It is not compulsory to use the template, but it is available to you should you wish to use this.

To note:

1. Only ePoster and Video ePoster presentations are required to be uploaded to the ePoster platform in advance of the conference. All other presentation should be uploaded on-site in DC in the Speaker Preview / Check-in Room. The other exception is any "Shark Tank" presentations, which can up uploaded directly to the PC using a USB stick on the "Shark Tank" stage.

2. It is essential that all free paper presenters, all invited faculty, including panelists, session chairs and moderators complete a Disclosure / Conflict of Interest Form and send this to the ISHA Scientific Program Office ahead of the conference.

If you havent already done so, please complete the form and email this at your earliest opportunity to abstract@ishaconference.com. A form is available to download below.

Any sessions where faculty / presenters have not provided these, will fail to be awarded AMA CME PRA credits, so please can you help us ensure that the disclosure forms are completed so we can maximise the credit awards for delegates.

EPoster / video ePoster instructions

All ePoster presenters should have now received from our partner Documedias instructions for upload, submission deadlines and templates for preparation. If you have not received these, please contact abstract@ishaconference.com. Deadline for uploading your completed ePoster is 22 September 2024.

It is possible to upload the ePoster along with video (max. 5 minutes) and audio (max. 3 minutes) files if desired. These should be uploaded as separate files.

Invited faculty

Outline schedules have already been sent to you with your formal invitations to be part of the ISHA 2024 program. If you haven't already done so, can you please confirm your availability to present via this LINK.

Confirmation of your final schedules, including presentation and moderating activities, will be sent to you later in September 2024. Session Chairs and Moderators will receive information to enable consultation with speakers to prepare for sessions, and Chairs of free paper sessions will receive summaries of the relevant abstracts for that session.

Please be reminded that all faculty, session chairs, oral presenters, ePoster and video presenters must register for the conference.

ICL Session Presenters

This year, it is our aim to produce an ISHA 2024 Instructional Course lecture book (ISHA-ICLB) as a record of these educational sessions, as it is 6-years since we last published one and there have been lots of advances in best practice during the intervening years, so it would seem a good opportunity to produce an update.

We hope that this year’s ISHA-ICLB will provide delegates and members with the highlights of each of your highly rated and selected ICL sessions. Our goal is to have the ISHA-ICLB produced in time for or shortly after the ISHA 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting.
ICL Session Chairs have been asked to assist with the gathering of paper summaries for the sessions they are chairing. The guidance notes and example information sent to session chairs can be downloaded from the links below.

Submission information

If you can check the "Paper Search" page on the website to check that we have an up to date photograph and a 100-word biography for inclusion in conference materials. If these need updating, please email up-to-date information to abstract@ishaconference.com.
