SUSTAINABILITY AT ISHA 2024

In keeping with the Society's vision, mission, purpose, and strategic goals, ISHA is committed to ensuring that the ISHA 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting is as sustainable as possible.

A number of arrangements have and will be made behind behind the scenes to help increase the sustainability of the event, for example:

  • JW Marriott has been chosen as the Meeting venue because of its commitment to careful use of resources, energy conservation, and emissions reduction: read more
  • Printing will be kept to a minimum, and signage will be digital or reusable wherever possible
  • Focus will be placed on locally sourced, seasonal food choices, with donation options explored for leftover food
  • Any carbon emissions that cannot be avoided will be offset through ISHA's partnership with Trees4Events: read more

How you can help...

We would like to ask delegates of ISHA 2024 to help us reach our sustainability goals by helping in the following ways:

  • Complete the sustainability questions on your registration form; this will help us to make appropriate arrangements
  • Consider donating towards ISHA's carbon offsetting program for the ISHA 2024 Annual Scientific Meeting by purchasing 3, 5, or 10 trees
  • Where you need to use transportation on site, think about the most eco-friendly options, such as walking, using public transportation, or car sharing with other delegates
  • Making sustainable food choices during your visit to Washington DC, favoring seasonal, locally sourced produce

Updates on the planting projects supported by ISHA through this scheme will be available to view in due course on the ISHA website.
