Bernardo Aguilera-Bohorquéz, MD

Dr Bernardo Aguilera is an orthopedic surgeon from Universidad del Valle. He has a Fellowship in Reconstructive Orthopedics from University of Alabama and his work is focused on hip arthroscopy. He is the founder of the hip preservation unit (UPRECA) at Centro Médico Imbanaco located in Cali,Colombia. Dr Aguilera is professor and director of the hip preservation arthroscopic surgery fellowship at Universidad Javeriana and since its creation in 2011, he has trained 18 fellows in hip arthroscopy.

Henrique Cabrita, MD, PhD

He is a full member of the Brazilian Societies of Orthopedics and Traumatology, Hip, Arthroscopy and Sports Traumatology, Sports Medicine and International Member of the American Academy of Orthopedics (AAOS), ISHA - The Hip Preservation Society and North American Academy of Arthroscopy (AANA). Former Assistant of the Hip Group of the Institute of Orthopedics and Traumatology of the Hospital das Clínicas of the Faculty of Medicine of the U.S.P. Former Collaborating Professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo. He has experience in the area of ​​orthopedics and traumatology, with an emphasis on the following topics: hip arthroscopy, hip arthroplasty, sports medicine, orthopedic surgery, orthopedic infections, surgical complications and tissue banking. Volunteer supporter of the Residency in Family and Community Medicine at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of São Paulo since 2015. Develops voluntary work at Instituto Vita, an NGO/OSCIP that supports needy athletes. Dr. Victor Ilizaliturri is an orthopaedic surgeon working in the National Institute for Rehabilitation in Mexico. He was a founding member of ISHA and served as President in the year 2013.

Rodrigo Mardones, MD

Assistant Professor Rodrigo Mardones is a member of the Adult Reconstructive Surgery Group, Department of Orthopedics Surgery, at Clinica Las Condes and Chief of the Hip surgery unit at the Hospital Militar, Santiago, Chile. He is also a Director of the Stem Cells for cartilage repair project at Clinica Las Condes. He received his MD at the Universidad de Chile in 1999 and completed a specialization in orthopedics in 2002. In 2002-2003 he did a research fellowship at the cartilage connective tissue repair laboratory at the Mayo Clinic. He became Assistant Professor of orthopedics at Pontificia Universidad Catolica in 2005. He is Professor Agregado of Orthopedic at Universidad de Chile in Clinca Las Condes. Rodrigo Mardones’ research has been focused on cartilage repair with the main focus on cartilage regeneration with the use of stem cells from bone marrow and adipose tissue.

Marcelo Queiroz, MD, MSc

Dr. Marcelo Queiroz is an orthopedist, hip specialist, with proven experience in arthroscopy and arthroplasty.​ His goal is to focus on excellence, providing humanized, individualized and efficient service. ​He is an assistant physician in the Hip group of the Orthopedics Department of Santa Casa de São Paulo, where he has teaching and research activities linked to the Faculty of Medical Sciences of Santa Casa de São Paulo.​He has recognized experience in hip arthroscopy, and is currently chairman of the Latin American committee of ISHA (International Hip Preservation Society) and chairman of the SBQ (Brazilian Society of Hip) preservative surgery committee.​ Member of SBOT (Brazilian Society of Orthopedics and Traumatology), SBQ (Brazilian Society of Hip), ICRS (International Cartilage Repair Society) and ISHA (The Hip Preservation Society).​​

After my training at the University I made my residency at the federal police hospital. The trauma was my main objective, then to improve my training I did the fellowship in hip surgery at the Italian hospital of Buenos Aires, finally in 2014 I made a 6-month fellow at the Inselspital of Bern, Switzerland and also with Prof Reinhold Ganz in joint preservation.
